This is an odd question, it was prompted by another thread.
Like a lot of people, I'm a fan of silica beads as they work wonders for both releasing moisture and absorbing moisture.
One thing I've noticed is here in New England, beads hold a bit higher then their specified amount. I use 65% beads and they hold 68% solid. It seems every New Englander I've spoken with also says their 65% beads holds around 68%.
Any idea? Maybe we would have to ask some scientist. My guess would it involves something to do with the area's climate. Who knows.
