humidor question

Hi, I have been using a "xikar crystal 50 cigar humidor" and filling it with distilled water. it has been working good since last winter. I just filled it up and noticed a greenish tint on the crystals. Could this be algae or something? It does maintain 70%Rh +/- a few.

pictures would be helpful? I've use xikar 250 but i use the xikar solution and never had a problem. If it's fuzzy it more than likely is mold, but I'll let people with more expertise chime in.

Normaly you are supposed to change the humidifiers every year. You should use a 50/50 solution too. Or better use beads like cigar mechanic.
