I know everyone on here has smoked a stick down as far as they could, otherwise known as "nubbing" a cigar, but today I blew past the usual point at which I can keep drawing.
I bought a Padron sampler box in Miami at the Padron factory, sat with them for a while and they signed it for me as well ! I decided to extract one of the cigars tonight in thoughts that I need to start learning if I like Padrons or not. I have had a 2000 that was not bad, and a 45 that I thought was way too peppery for my tastes with no other definitive flavors on it (I know to most it is an amazing stick, but didn't do it for me), and an awsome '26 No.2.
Tonight I just wanted to see if the hype on the maduro's was all it was cracked up to be, and I would have to say YES. I pulled out a 4000 maddie, and smoked that thing clear down to the point that I was changing hands to let the burning fingers rest a minute. Great chocolaty flavors, some pepper, carmel, a touch of almonds, cedar, dusty cocoa, and well aged tobacco. I would recommend these to anyone !
I know this is kind of a review, but that isn't my intent, I just want to know if anyone else has had this kind of experience with these sticks or did I just get a one-off ?
Thanks : Adam Z

I'd say a company that's been making cigars since 1964, can't possible be pulling the wool over people eyes all these years. To sum it up, you didn't get a One Off! Padron's just know how to make cigars right, and they are great! My first Padron is what got me really interested in cigars and opened my eyes to what a good cigar should taste like.

That's the same way I feel about my all time favorite CC, a PSDN4....I got a pipe that they fit in so I smoke them down to nothing but ashes! :cbig:

There was still plenty left to smoke of that.

Get yourself some toothpicks.

And yes I really enjoy Padron maddies as well.

yeah tooth picks are where its at, but seriously those padrons might be the greatest budget stick i get the 2000's for like 5 bucks at the local b&m and smoke them right down to nothing.

Needle nose pliers work for nubbing, too if you're in a pinch. ;) The x000 maduro are some of my consistently favorite cigars, regardless of the price point.

Agreed. I love love love anything Padron. They are a smoke I anticipate nubbing with a paper clip or toothpick.

for all you tooth pick nubbers, try a wood screw. The threads hold the nub in place so it does nor spin or slip off.
