So, I smoked my first Tat today. I leave town Friday, and my last local friend leaves tomorrow, so I figured our final post-work coffee hangout was sufficient occasion.

I get it now! Everyone on the BOTL board raves and raves, and now I realize what a fantastic smoke they are.

It was a Tatuaje Noella that Goin' Fer Smoke shared after winning the joke contest, and it was great - I'm eyeing the other one I've got in a whole different light now. I drank an iced coffee with it, and while I'm not knowledgeable to good pairings, it was delicious.

My real question is - where to next? Any suggestions on a noob's journey through the Tatuaje line?

If you can get your hands on any noellas reservas, do it. Also, the regios are very good. If you want to step up to the plate and get something that will rock your world, go with a Cojonu 2003 or a cazadores. Good luck and now you're officially screwed, you've entered the world of tatuaje and will always judge all other cigars against them.

The Noella's and Noella Cuadrado are great smokes. As njstone said, the verocu #9 is also good, but it took me a couple to get into them as they are a somewhat different and to me did not have the spice blast.

I'll tell you what though, I have just finished up my second Cain Maduro and I think I like it as much as some of the tat's. Lots of spice in the first 1/3, turning chocolate and sweet and smoothing out in the second third with the spice coming back in the last 3rd.

Also, the Tatuaje Reserva SW Maduro is a great smoke. You can get singles at tampahumidor for around $14.25 with free shipping.

I need to try the cojonu 2003 as I hear it is great as well.

As has been stated, all cigars from this point forward will be judged against the tat's now that you have smoked one!

it's interesting that you can have a noella, a noella cuadrado, a noella reserva and if you're lucky, an original noella reserva. and each one is different and each one is great!
i don't think you can go wrong with any of the brown labels, especially the reservas. i tend to lean towards the taino, cazadore and cojonus in the regular line.

I also just had my first tat recently. I picked up a 5er of the Havana IV Nobles, and really liked it. That forced me to pick up some Noellas and wow. After shuckins bombed me with a white label that makes 3 down. I guess you could say I am ready to be one of his flock.

yup, had my first last week. havana IV. Had to try them cus everyone here keeps raving about them. Good smoke! Bought another today and had an Illusione 68 cus ive heard good things about them also. Didnt care for that as much as the tat though. A bit harsh. Its cool to get suggestions from the bros. Im trying more new smokes as a result. Ive been doing the cigar thing for about 20 years and fell into a rut, smoking only my old familiar brands. Still love the ones ive loved all along but, its always good to try something new too.

Thanks for catching that. I was wrong o the price (bought too much lately). They were $14.25.

It looks like they are sold out now. I was able to get to it using my wishlist, but they do not show up anymore under the single for tat....

Sorry for the confusion.

Here is a link that let you add a box that brings the sticks down to 11.75 each...Not sure if when you place the order if they actually have them..

They might, but I doubt it...they are under msrp there...

There are quite a few retailers online who put sticks on their sites, lets you order and pay for them, then call or email you and tell you that "They have not come in yet, and can we interest you in anything else?"....

VERY annoying...
