I go in today to do a international transfer and I spend 3 hours there only to get zero done due to "Security Clearances" I had to wait for some freaking bank manager to approve it. This was not my first one with the company overseas, rather like our umteenth time. It is getting harder for Americans to work in America. Sometimes I just want to throw in the towel and go back to work for someone. Worst part is I have to go do another transfer next week.:argh:

It's wierd they'd treat you like that since you seem to be a regular customer :dunno:

I have to send international wires monthly to the same recipiants. I call my personal banker give him the info via email and when everything is ready I go to the bank for signatures. Used to be I didn't have to go it was "sig on file".
Not any more though.

we send and receive wire transfers daily. it's really fun when the bank sits on your money and bank off the float while they clear it.

Yeah its international business to business bank transfers. They did give me a form with 20 million sheets to fill out and then afterwards it will be just a phone call away but damn do they make it hard on us.

Can't really blame the banks. It didn't used to be so difficult. After the "government" decided we needed to monitor every time someone takes a dump in this country it became considerably more difficult.

Post 9-11 forced many changes in the movement of international money. We send and receive cash daily via ACH, wire and international wire. The international stuff got real sticky.

Damn, I forgot that form, 20 million sheets at least. I made my CFO fill it out probably why I didn't remember it. They do make you jump through hoops.
