I usually have a drink and a cigar on my balcony in my apartment. My wife and dog usually join me and we hang out and talk. Well, the last time we were smoking, my wife suggested that I buy her a cigar to smoke. :hearteyes :blushlove

She wanted something small that she would enjoy. She said she didn't want a big one cause she would probably get bored while smoking and not finish it. LOL! So, I've been thinking about getting her something to smoke. But, I'm not sure what I should get her. So, I turn to the "braintrust" for help in selecting something.

I was actually able to drag her to a cigar event once at a local B&M. One of her old high school friends works there, so she went with me. It was a Drew Estates event and while there I bought a Acid Blondie. While I was smoking it she commented that it smelled like a girly cigar. LOL! I was thinking about getting her one of those to try, but I'm not sure she will like the sweetened tip. We'll see.

Now, I ask you, what else could I pick up for her to try? Should I try a flavored cigar? Are those pretty mild? If so, any particular brand? I was looking at the Tatianas or CAO, but since I haven't tried any of them before, I'm just not sure which direction I should go. Or should I just get something really mild and non-flavor infused?

Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

Get her something mild to start with. Ashton Classic, Monte White, Davidoff Mille Series, Oliva G, etc. I hate when people think a "chick cigar" always means flavored. Chicks have the same taste buds as dudes. But if you insisit on a flavored cigars, Cojimar's come in a variety of flavors and are small.

Got my girlfriend started with CAO flavours. I'd tried a couple mild cigars first, but those didn't do anything for her. After a few months of CAO flavours, Ambrosias, Tabaks, she started trying more non-flavored cigars. I made the mistake of continuing to try to push milder blends on her. Turns out I went about it all wrong and what she really liked was the spicier and stronger cigars. Once she tried a couple Camachos and then LFD's, she was hooked. She still likes the occasional flavored cigar, but I don't care at all; in fact, I'm just glad she doesn't like Acids; most of the rest smell pretty good. I just really like that we can enjoy a cigar together.

Hmm...I guess I had the wrong approach. I'm glad I asked before buying something. Now I'm worried she will smoke all my cigars! :bouncetau

You know I expected the first comment to be some variation of a joke relating to this line:

She said she didn't want a big one cause she would probably get bored while smoking and not finish it.
I'm a little disappointed...

Anyway, to answer your question...

Personally, I have never been a fan of flavored cigars and had I not smoked an actual cigar before I tried a few of the infused stuff I may never have liked cigars to begin with. So if it were my wife/girlfriend/female aquaintance I would start her with something in the mild to medium category and see what she thinks. Then you might step it up to something more medium to full (even if she liked the milder stuff, she may like the stronger stuff more :dunno:). As for size...I would think a petite corona would fit the bill. There are certainly other options though...lancero, lonsdale, corona, petite landero. In closing you're a lucky guy...my wife wants nothing to do with sharing this little hobby of mine .

well....there is a little risk there.... :) sometimes wish that I hadn't handed her an Epernay or RASS.... on the other hand, I find it easier to justify buying more (and better) cigars :glassesgr

Ohhh haaaawgyyyyy... Your didn't tell me that your lady was showing an interest too... Your bomb is being delayed so that I can swing out to a B&M for some more fun for your marriage's sake.

Cheers, bro

Dude, you've done more than enough already! I'm way too excited to get your package. You don't have to do anything else.

Eileens Dream is the best CAO Flavor. The flavoring just goes well with the cigar. Other than that Drew Estate Naturals, Isla del Sol, Java, Tabak Especial, are all worthy.

And I know girls dont only smoke something "flavored" but she requested something "girly" which would imply that.

If you want to opt for a regular cigar, how about something from Cabaiguan, La Riqueza, or Epernay? All of them are available in smaller sizes that are both interesting and relatively easy going in comparison to some of the other offerings from said manufacturers.

Edit: Both Cabaiguan and La Riqueza have received thumbs up from my girlfriend when she tried them and she is not really even an occasional cigar smoker.

I also agree witht he CAO Flavours. Any of them. My gf will occasionally offer to smoke a cigar with me so I keep a few in my humi just for her. They're only a few bucks so if she doesn't like it then you're not broke. My gf likes the Moontrance and Honey Gold.

If she is a coffee drinker, she may actually like Drew Estate Tabak Especial or maybe Tatiana Mocha. My sister-in-law was curious about trying a cigar. I had some Helix Amaretto that got in a general sampler long ago. She took the rest to smoke with her girlfriends.
