I need some advice about non lethal protection.

So here is the deal, mym mom has just moved and to a new apartment, this one is on the ground floor and where she lives is a very good and calm place and this is Sweden, you dont have to worry about thing but that said I stilll would feel much better if she had something at home for protection.
In sweden you can not buy or own a taser but that is my problem

I dont know anything about them and if possible dont want to pay to much, if there is a very small that also works I would like to buy one for my fiance so she can have it with her. I saw one that was almost as small as a cigarette package....

I am greatful for any help and advice.

Jim I need to figure out how to get it but it is just not legal here to own. But what the hell I would rather face the charges someday than have my mother/fiance in a bad situation with no protection.

Maybe this is a dumb suggestion, but what about pepper spray or mace?

All are not legal here to own (Police can carry pepper spray after proper training) and as I understand it not everyone is affected by pepperspray but mace would be a option.

Not that I would but I just image if it is sent to Sweden by mail it might be a bit easyer to get stuck in customs.

But where could one buy mace online in the us?

But a couple of tasers, have them shipped to a brother here in the states and have them reship to you there. Problem solved.

I am checking some "fun facts" and it seems there is only a small fine for having mace.

Taser on the other hand MUCH MUCH worse.

you dont want to turn this into a hand to hand combat type thing. so pepper spray of some sort that will shoot about 20 ft. the gel types are supposed to be most eefective. also, a super bright flashlight. a 100 lumen plus flashlight will blind an intruder for a few seconds, giving your mom enough time too escape, or lock herself in a room.

Well if you're going that route, go pepper spray. A VERY small percentage of the population is not affected by pepper spray. True mace, on the other hand (not the brand name of pepper spray but true mace, which is a low concentration of tear gas in aerosol form), doesn't usually affect those under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You want pepper spray (I'm an OC Instructor).

I trust you Jim, so where would one find good pepperspray?
I imagine like most things you get what you pay for?!

buy a large can of bear repellent. Many places that ban "pepper spray" have exceptions for large can animal repellents.
