But I wanted to let people know here as well.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a fortune cookie stating a move would be coming soon.

Guess what, the people we were lease purchasing the house from told us they are having to claim bankruptcy....they are losing everything, so now we are having to move.

We have at least a couple of months and do not have to pay them in the time being. But, we have to find a new place and move.....

Everything will be OK, but this really sucks ass.

That sucks! Call the mortgage company and see if you can work something out on taking over the loan

Thats the ticket dude! Work this out into something good.

I know in the car industry you can "assume" a loan. Not sure how it works with mortgages.

Definitely see if you can take over the loan if it is a house you would want.

If not best of luck finding a better place to live!

We moved into our new house during the holidays when I was younged, it wasn't so bad.

More info...

I was wrong with my intial report. It is not backtaxes, but IRS. The couple have (or had) a business here but was running it out of Mexico. To make a long story short, they were not paying taxes and had one of two choices, liquidate assets or go to jail. So, "The MAN" is taking over this and everything else they owned (three other houses, cars, etc.)

The bad thing for me is my credit. It is shite to say the least. 514 score and repos in my past 2 years......
