On another post, I had talked about how the last few sticks I'd had from my humi were dry as a bone and tasted awful. I reseasoned the humi, bought some xikar beads from a local B&M and hoped for the best. They've been sitting in the humi closed up tight for a few weeks. I did reload the beads once about 4 or 5 days in as they had shrunk down considerably. Ive opened it just long enough to check the humidity level which has held at 70% since reloading the beads. Beads still look fine.
Yesterday I finished a project for class that means I'm done with school until next fall. It was 75 degrees outside, sunny and I decided it was time.
I opened the humi and inspected the sticks. None of them felt dry at all. No wrappers were all good, no hint of a crackle when handling them. I took out an H. Uppman 1844 Camaroon and headed for the back deck with my hat and a tall glass of water.
What a difference! FINALLY! Great smoke, the ash got over 2" before I flicked it off. I didn't smoke the whole thing as it got prety strong for me as it got short. (I haven't smoked in almost a month) but up until then it was nice to be back puffing.
Thanks for the advice folks, the sticks are all good!
