I'm finding it harder and harder lately to enjoy a stick solo. I usually just put on some music and burn through and album or two, but even that's getting old. I sometimes just want to unwind and enjoy a stick or two at home when I'm not at my weekly HERF, and I'm sure that I'm not alone in this. There's no TV in my backyard to melt my brain (maybe it's time for one). I feel like if I don't enjoy passing the time while I'm smoking, then I also won't enjoy my smoke. I don't know, maybe I'm bonkers.

Anyone else experience this? What are some of the things you do to enjoy yourself while you're smoking solo?

I'm incapable of doing nothing. I'm one of those unfortunate souls whose mind is constantly racing.
So I'm always reading, or writing, or researching, or planning... something.

That's why I like smoking with somebody. Holding a conversation is plenty to keep me occupied, but it doesn't distract me from my smoke.

I don't particularly enjoy smoking alone either. I think it's a social thing for me, even if I'm sitting with a non-smoker. I often enjoy them more when I'm with someone else also, even of its the same stick.... Idk call me crazy...

I enjoy walking with a cigar (I would say I do this 70 % of the time), otherwise I'll try and read a book when I'm sitting without a buddy, computer or my phone.

I smoke alone a lot, it does get boring sometimes, but I will also text the shit out of GRR609 and few other friends. Me and Dave can be like 2 teenage girls sometimes. LMAO I will also read the forums from my phone, I have an Ipad but always forge to bring it out side. Sometimes I will go out and sit on the dock if its not too hot and watch for gators.

I should add I don't know anyone really close that would smoke a cigar. So I have to read my kindle/book. Or putter around in the garage. My goal is to find some active botls around here.

For me, I read, watch movies, drink a beer or wiskey or just in silent enjoying the peace and quiet. Right now, it's beer a movie(Ronin) and surfin' on the smart phone. Hope you find something while enjoying a good one.

All I can really say is its a very mood important thing. From personal observation, I've noticed that if I'm too tense to allow myself to relax, then the smoke becomes an awkward and frustrating exercise. I usually smoke all by me onesie, and I find that taking a moment to get set up is critical. Settle into a comfy chair, get all the tools you need and place them in an easy to reach spot. Take a couple sips of your drink. Take in your surroundings, and take a few deep breaths of fresh air. I usually toast and then light it, then finally after an inch or so, after the stick has settled and the flavors really start to come alive, then I put on my headphones crank up the Toto!

I mean, uh, Megadeath, and such.

Now, on the other hand there have been plenty of times when I've tried to unwind after work, but am still all nerves, and I can't enjoy it. So, in my humble opinion, perception is king. If the TV will help you relax, by all means go for it.

I take my laptop out to the garage and watch episodes of my favorites shows (Deadliest Catch, Longmire, Franklin and Bash) or sometimes just my iphone and I listen to my favorite podcasts.....particularly Comedian Bill Burr (Monday Morning Podcast). I find it very relaxing.

The majority of the time I'm smoking solo as well. I love to sit out on the porch in the morning with some relaxing house on the radio and my iPhone to surf the interweb. Relaxing as all get out.

iPhone5 from tapatalk sent was this.

Lately (and by lately I mean just last night), I'll sit down, light up, check my favorite forums, make a few comments, check IG, do the same, then read a book until the sun goes down. Then, I watch an episode of whatever TV show has caught my attention. Right now, it's Suits, with my wife.

So:
1. Surf the web
2. Read
3. Watch something

I know you said you don't have a TV, but grab your phone or a tablet (heck, get the Kindle Fire HD for $169 right now) and you can watch anything on Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon Prime.

Enjoy!

I'm lucky enough that my father-in-law also enjoys a good cigar, as does my dad (but he lives in MD and I'm in VA). Most of the time I end up smoking outside alone though. I usually take my Kindle. Occasionally my wife will sit outside w/ me after putting our step son to sleep. Other than that, I just watch the stars. Anyway, someone just called 9-1-1, so I have to go take care of someone else's problems right now. Brb.
