Well, i'm flying with the boss today...in his plane...that he flies. So this may be the last post i make. He's a relativley new pilot...about a year or so now. and we're flying into the mountains of WV and the visibility where we're going is supposed to +100ft, yes, thats 100 feet, with a cloud cieling of about 100 feet also. All i can think of is that South American Soccer team that crashed in the Andes. Remember that movie? They had to eat each other to survive. ALthough, my boss probably tastes like bacon.

I suppose the good news is that the plane does have it's own parachute. And i'm going to get an ariel photo of my town and my house., That should be cool.

Did i mention that the boss used some of his money payoff the FAA flight inspector so he could pass his vision test and get his license? HE ONLY HAS ONE EYE!!! Hows he gonna see the other planes?!?! Or that mountain directly in front of us?!?!

Well, just incase you never hear form me again, you'll know why. I'll miss you guys while i'm smoking Cohibas and Partagas in Heaven.

Good luck man, My dad used to fly small planes, and had bad eyes. He was color blind, so he bought a copy of the test answers and memorized them, so he could pass the vision test.

Ahem. FAA employee here. Good thing I don't work in Flight Standards any more.

Why pay off an Inspector or Examiner? 14 CFR Part 67 allows for the issuance. of a Statement of Demonstrated Ability to pilots with monocular vision. Hundreds of commercial and private pilots have 'em.

Im' back on earth. I'll post some pics later. Thanks for all the "postiive" support. And the boss took none too kindly to that line about bold talk for a one eyed...

This was my second time in a small plane, but this plane is top of the line. 2nd fastest in it's class and the safest in it's class. Has more avionics that commercial airliners. We flew at over 200 mph.

Here;s some pics...and no, i'm not the guy that looks like he tastes like bacon.

#1 - The ride
#2 - Me lookin all pilot like
#3 - The baconator (he looks hungry)
#4 - Scenic Fayette County, Ohio
#5 - Washington Court House, Ohio. The golf course in the foreground is my local 9 hole country club, whcih only the best of the best are members...pinky up.

I got a ton of pics of my town, which was really cool. Flying at 1000 ft all around the place i've known most all my life. Saw my house from above with all my hard landscape and hardscape work on full display...good. Saw the neighbor laying topless on her roof...she's 86; not so good.

At $750,000, i'm gonna guess "gimmicky" isn't an option. Trust me, if i'm falling to earth from 10,000 inside of a plane, i want a parachute on that plane. From what i understand, it's not meant to save the plane, but meant to save you. lucky for me we never had to use it.

Anyhow, yes indeed it was fun. Got knocked around a bit when we flew over the mountains in WV. Went over to Petersburg, WV, flew over Seneca Rocks. Then flew over to Lewsiburg, WV to the Greenbrier. Like i said, 18 hours turned into 4 or so.
