We just got these in at my B&M (Just for him) and I smoked one of the Maduros, which I was told was the 2012 version. Has anyone else tried one out? I thought it was a phenomenal cigar- since I smoked it at the shop I didn't do a review, but I picked up a well blended spice along with cedary notes, and a great dark chocolate with a hint of sweetness that I think came a lot from the wrapper. Opinions and thoughts on this cigar?

The Maduro was pretty good. Lots of cedary sweetness for me. Was focusing more on socializing then smoking it when I had it. But plenty enjoyable.

The natural is good but the Maduro is a fantastic smoke. Has the perfect draw/amount of smoke and a tinge of sweetness every third puff or so. The final third has a strong dark choc element. Hated to cherry pick the box but picked up 5 more maddys after smoking one at my B&M today G1

If I had more money I would pick up a couple of these boxes, until then I guess I will stick to sampling some singles! Maduro was definitely my favorite.

Before lighting the cigar smells like dried fruit, like raisin or plum, which is weird, but I like it never the less.

smoking the maduro at work right now. so far so good. reminds me of an ep carrillo maduro...stay tuned.

A third into this thing and im getting citrus and leather and lightly toasted african coffee bean.

Getting into the second half now and the flavors are really starting to come together. The strength has really picked up as well.

Some nice bitter chocolate in the second half of this cigar, I'm really liking it!

The sweetness from this maduro wrapper is really shining through in the last third of the cigar.

I forgot to mention that there is just a ton of smoke pouring out of this thing!!

Final thoughts

The maduro is a great stick that keeps getting better as you smoke it. The citrus smell comes back after you purge the cigar, which I personally prefer. I can tell that these will get better with some down time, but they taste great now. If you have the means to get a box pull the trigger. IF you do not like them, you will have no problem finding someone to take them off your hands!

The '11 reminds me a lot of the phantom. Great flavor & perfect burn even after traveling 2x to get to me. Going to try the '12 tomorrow. I keep reading that it is the better of the two. If it is that much better I'll likely spontaneously combust because I'm a big fan of the others. Cheers!
