Well my trusty old laptop came up lame several days ago, and after several hours of open hard drive surgery I afraid we lost it. It didn't suffer however. That is until I threw it under my truck tire for a little extra traction. So now I'm in the process of trying to recover anything pertinent from the old, and transplanting to the new. At least the newer model has about half the ass that the old one had. Wish me luck configuring, I do hate change.

Ya know it seems like 95% of the hardware problems are hard drives. Whenever theres a machine at work thats acting funny its usually a hard drive thats about to go.

I am assuming this is a windows laptop too? Don't get me started on that OS, hah.

Change is good. Transition is a bitch.
Very true. I just got a new machine at work. It's a pain configuring it again, but I enjoy it.

I'm getting an adapter, to plug in the old drive into, with a USB plug on the other end to save anything important off the old one. I can't really complain too much seeing that my previous Winbook was close to reaching its fourth birthday. But it's still a giant PITA. The new Toshiba has like 15 programs running in the start up mode. I hate all that extra crap. I just downloaded a program from Acronis, called True Image, that'll copy your drive for easier restores. That way after I get all the accounts set-up, and all the useless crap removed (No I don't want to try AOL free for 90 days) I can clean this one up on a regular basis without all the headaches. Anybody else used this program?
