That's no fun. Down in Texas we don't have state income tax, so they typically nail us on property taxes. I guess it all comes out in the wash, but I still hate paying that annual tax bill.
Not sure how old your are, but at least you should see some of that social security coming back to you....me on the other hand, I won't see a dime of that in 3o years...I was self employed 30 years, the bummer was I paid in 17% of my profits (Botton line) to fund my Social Security. employeers & employees sides. But I could deduct many things working people could not.

Congrats on the kiddo! I’ve got a second one on the way.I filed mine on Sunday. We had a first child last year so this was the first year I got to take advantage of the child credit. Next year will be even better when the credit goes from $1k to $2k.
