Income Tax Time

That's no fun. Down in Texas we don't have state income tax, so they typically nail us on property taxes. I guess it all comes out in the wash, but I still hate paying that annual tax bill.
Oregon has no State Sales Tax so they nail property owners. Honestly there is NO Utopia but Apprently Texas has Utopia Texas.
Someone always pay for the Police, Fire, and other service people think of calling when thy need help.
I was watching TV the other night and part of the story line was people who did not pay taxes, support the government. One of the characters said to the couple of anti government types. When you need help or your home is on fire. Will you expect someone to come help when you dial 911?
Just remember when the Feds who pin nothing on Al Capone, finally did they locked him up on Tax Evasion.

Already filed, return is approved and scheduled to be sent to my bank tomorrow. Last year it took almost an entire year to get my refund... Maybe they expedited it this year since they screwed around last year. It is kind of nice getting 2 returns in 2 months though.
Not sure how old your are, but at least you should see some of that social security coming back to you....me on the other hand, I won't see a dime of that in 3o years...I was self employed 30 years, the bummer was I paid in 17% of my profits (Botton line) to fund my Social Security. employeers & employees sides. But I could deduct many things working people could not.

I normally get a small amount back. I had an old 401k loan that defaulted through a long, ridiculous series of events that I didn't realize happened until too late (I worked for DIRECTV and they were bought by ATT. I had autopay setup but that stopped without notification and I had forgotten about it). I should wash this year. I am hoping not to owe anything.

We are slightly ahead this year. Child ourselves in 17. Looking forward to next year to get the extra money. As you all already know, it doesn't come close to the added expense but sure is helpful.
