What do you think of an Indian smoke shop. That is close to me trying to sell fake Cubans for the real thing. I was talking to a guy who told me of this. I went to see for myself because he said they are the real thing. He has been buying them up like crazy. I did buy one to taste it dog rocket. They sell them for $11.75 a piece.

Thats big business! Counterfeiting has been around for a long time, but when it comes to a man and his cigar thats down right disrespectful!

That is crappy!! Some pics would be great if you are able to get them as I like learning as much as possible concerning how to spot them (such as if they are given to me, etc).

Rob, just curious if they were discreet about displaying/selling them?

Not sure what kind of Indian you speak of, American Indian, or Hindu Indian. Not that it really matters, BUT our local Hindu Indian Smoke shop does a couple things that I do not like. Most of it has to do with selling the promotional items the reps give them. Like buy 1 get one Free packs of smokes. They just remove the extra pack and sell it by itself, or they say if you buy them like that, it cost $8 for the 1 pack and the other pack is free, but if you only buy 1 pack it’s $5. So it kind of sucks when you know Marlboro spent money so that I could have free pack of smokes, and this guy is pocketing 100% of the price of that pack. It says right on the pack that it is for promotional purposes and not to be sold. I would have let it slide, if this guy wasn’t suck a dick. If I go in the humidor, he walks over and stares at me through the glass, like I am going to steal something. And while I thought it was because I have a shaved head and may look a little rough, he does the same thing to my 60 yr old neighbor.

Also I was looking at some tobacco pipes, thinking about adding one to the collection. He would take one out of the cabinet, show it to me and when I wanted to look at another one, he would put the first opne back and sget the other. This kept on for several minutes and I asked to several at one time. He started getting annoyed, and said that I had already seen that one and that they were all the same.

Of course we all know, every hand made pipe is different, and that is part of what we like about handmade pipes. I raised my voice and told him if he didn’t want to sell me one, that he should just say so, and I would leave, but I am in here showing intrest in spending $85 and should be treated like a customer not an annoyance. So I told him I would buy a pipe somewhere else, and to just give me a pack of smokes. He handed me the pack that said promotional only. I paid and he gave me the receipt. Then still a bit pissed about the way I was treated, I told him he should give me anouther pack of cigarettes because this one says “not for resale” he offered to trade it for the regular pack. I said NO, this is the free one and I want the one I paid for.

He got mad and told me he would not give me 2 packs for the price of one. I told him I would just take my receipt, and my pack of cigarettes and call marlboro, and see what they had to say about him selling the promo items. He was also selling the little spittons that Skoal was giving away, for $5 a pop, all of them have a stiucke ron them that says “ not for resale.” So I took my smokes and left.

I have no idea who to call, but I hope he lost sleep over it, I am sure Marlboro would be upset at him for this if not cease giving him any promo packs in the future. Either way making a threat can at least make you feel better, now if you are talkig about a Native American Indian smoke shop, I did not know they were allowed to sell CC’s in America. If they are, selling fakes means nothing to the US gov’t because we don’t recognize any of the brands names, so counterfeiting them is not really a crime because there is nothing to counterfeit. If it makes you feel better post a craigslist add once a week stating they sell fake cubans and not to buy cuban cigars there.

So here the are. I will look at there supply again this week. The other cigars are good. It is the only humidor in town so I take what I can get. As far as the store selling promo items. Try to find their distributor they would love to hear about it.
