Hello one and all BOTL,
I live in New Mexico, Ruidoso. I am semi-retired. I have been smoking cigars for a little over 10 years.
I remember starting with Monte cristo white label, but quickly changed over to Padron 2,3,4000 depending on my time frame.
I then started tasting everything in the humidor at the store I frequented. I then worked at a cigar store in Virginia Beach, before I retired.
I have opened a cigar store here in this little hamlet. it is not going so well, lot of locals don't support us yet, they purchase online always say it is
cheaper, but I am working on them.
thanks for your time

Welcome from Buffalo, Mark! (y)

Best of luck running your B&M. You know what? Damn near everything is cheaper on the Internet; if I was you, I would do everything I could to appeal to those old-school people like myself who believe in supporting the local store owner. I never mind paying a little bit more to get great customer service, in-person. There's a tremendous B&M right by me that seems to be doing quite well. He has a strong social media presence, e-mail promotions and text messages to inform the regulars about sales and new items. They've got a frequent shopper discount program as well. He's big on special events and herfs. It's a nice business model. I'm sure that if you e-mailed Rob (owner) or Greg (in-house sales and hand roller), they would share some helpful insights with you. Both of them are great guys...:)
