I'm trying to connect my iPod touch to a Bluetooth device that isn't a headset. I can see that it pairs but it says that there is no connection. So do I need to jailbreak the iPod to allow the Bluetooth to work freely or am I wasting my time and it just isn't going to happen.

Unless its changed with newer updates iPod Touch bluetooth only supports headphones and a device that transmits to a car stereo.

What's the exact device you're looking to connect? Also what generation is your iPod touch? Finally, what version of iOS are you using?

I'm trying to connect an obd2 Bluetooth device to send data from my cars diagnostic port. I have Downloaded 2 apps to display the data so it should work. I updated the iPod on iTunes recently and it's the previous generation iPod.

Hrm. Don't know anything about those. I'd try rebooting the iPod and trying again. Never hurts.

Beyond that I'd try the manufacturer, they might have some suggestions.

I was thinking about getting one of those myself. Do you have anyone with an iPhone that can test it? The one app I was looking at said iPhone but didn't mention the touch.
