My wife got me the 8 gig for xmas. I think I have 62 cds and 2 movies on mine with 1 one gig left. If you want it for the movies, I would definately go for the largest one!!! Each movie I got takes up about 1.2 gigs.

You can make movies much smaller if you want to, there are converting programs that will shrink them to "iphone optimized" size (making them as small as possible, but so they are still full quality on the small ipod screen). That puts a movie at around 350-500MB usually.

I have the 16B iPhone. It's enough for me right now since I don't mind syncing it to change things up every now and then. If you had doing that, then the bigger size might be a good idea. I have 2 movies, some tv shows, several books. lots of music, and lots of photos on my iPhone.

You're only talking about $70 bucks difference. In 6 months, you won't remember or care about that $70 difference, but you *WILL* care if you don't spend it because you'll be running out of room.

As far as whether or not you should get one, I really enjoy mine. I use the calender and address book functions all the time, as well as having access to music/podcasts and movies. I'm with the "go big now" crowd on this one. I've got the 8G model, and wish I'd have gotten the 16.

I got the 32. I would at least get the 16. The price difference isn't too much considering what you're getting.

It also depends on if you import your own CD's and at what rate you encode them. I like my stuff loseless but it takes up a crap load of space.
