Apple shipped iPods carrying computer virus
Some video devices contain RavMonE.exe affecting Windows computers

Updated: 2 hours, 43 minutes ago

NEW YORK - Some of Apple Computer Inc.'s iPod digital music players
shipped in
the past month carry a computer virus, according to a posting on
Apple's
technical support Web site.

Apple said since Sept. 12, less than 1 percent of Video iPods --
pocket-sized
devices that can play music files and video clips -- left its contract
manufacturer carrying the virus RavMonE.exe, which affects computers
running
Microsoft Corp.'s Windows operating system.

"So far we have seen less than 25 reports concerning this problem. The
iPod
nano, iPod shuffle and Mac OS X are not affected, and all Video iPods
now
shipping are virus free," the company said on the site.

Apple said the virus can be detected and removed using many popular
anti-virus
software programs.

Representatives for Apple and Microsoft were not available to comment
further
Wednesday morning.

Only infects PC's, and a good Virus scan will find and remove it...

Seems even hackers will work the iPods.. With Everything in the world you cant have Music and be left alone..

Glad I have a MAC
I Run ALL MAC'S here and work, but I have been Checking at least 2 iPods a day for people.. And have sent some Virus Cleaning to The Friends in Texas also. Seems EVERYONE is over reacting a bit on this one, but better safe than sorry I guess.

My Thought: You can fry my system, but LEAVE my Music alone! I have MANY years finding and digitizing some of the Old stuff, and some Dead Concerts cant be found..
But to quote Iggy Pop: Man That's like Hypnotizing Chickens!...:roundtheh
