Yeah...it sounds funny but really...I need a good cigar mechanic.

I have a box of expensive A's that are a little on the plugged side. (2000 box). I got to thinking that I could send it back and ask for a replacement but it's a bad year for cigars in general. What we need as a community is a good cigar mechanic that can re-work a bad box to a smokable box.

If anybody knows of a good local roller, please let me know, it would be an interesting experiment. Please make sure that you actually know the roller instead of knowing about the roller...like I said, it's kind of an expensive box.

Yeah, but I wanted to get the box fixed so I don't get that pissed feeling when I smoke one.

So far, 2 have been plugged out of the 3 I've smoked.

The thread's supposed to be humerous, but it would be cool to send a box to the mechanic to get fixed.

My cigar mechanic? He's a black and decker drill...lol.

I know you have heard of using a small bore drill on your cigars but if you haven't tried it...it works. It will totally remove the plug.

A cigar roller will not be able to help you, but first sugestion I have other than the poker is dry them out a bit. Tabbacy shriks as it dries and may solve the problem. You need to dry the filler as the wrapper, so a day or two will not work, you need a lower humidity home for them.

Also, on the draw poker, try poking them all and putting them back in the box, might kill feeling you have about pulling one out of the box and expecting problems. If your careful you can poke them from the foot a couple times and the cigars will still look the same, just smoke better. Measure the depth of poke and mark it on the poker.

Try cutting a plugged one in half. They're As, so you'll still have two decent-sized cigars.
The problem with a lot of smokes is that the filler is twisted like a corkscrew. Cutting the cigar in half will get rid of this problem. Poking the cigar with a draw tool will work briefly, but the tobacco will re-form into the twisted shape after a few puffs. Cutting a cigar in half is many times the only option.
