Here are pictures of my beautiful first Tatuaje; an excellent looking cigar that appears beautifully constructed. I was so ready for it.

I've been smoking for fifteen years or so but it was my first Tat. After coming on this board and seeing all the PeteLove, I thought I would give it a try.

It was outside on a beautiful day in the Great White North. I made the cut and toasted the foot. I could smell the joy already.

I lit the thing and here's what happened.

It just ain't right.

In all fairness to the cigar and the brand, it smoked beautifully even in this condition. But to go from no issues and perfect looking cigar to that in a couple of puffs...

Here's the final result after about an hour and 15 minutes of enjoyment.

It was in there for a week or so. I don't usually smoke anything the first month or so after I buy them but I couldn't resist this one.

Bummer about the wrapper man, but it looks like you enjoyed it all the way to the end!
Thanks AJ. I smoked it until I couldn't. It will definitely be a regular addition to the humidor.

I tried the man o' war stuff for the first time and I love that too. I ordered the Mi Barrio El Puro yesterday (only cause the dude on the picture looks like my dad) and am looking forward to trying that. Tat box might have to wait 'till next round.

I have never had a Tat split on me like that. Guess it happens even to the best of them.

That's definitely out of the ordinary from that Tat... It's my favorite cigar to date! Hopefully, I pray those incidents are far and few in between for you, bro!

It happens. I've had it happen with others along with Tats unless it's ridiculous I just smoke right through it as you did. There probably was a hairline crack in it and when you lit it "snap crackle pop".

I've noticed that ouside conditions can also affect how a cigar will smoke. I've only had a few Tat's and only had one problem with splitting. Not as bad as yours but still fustrating to say the least. It really can be a bumber when you spend the money on a good cigar only to find it had major construction issues. I try not to think of how much I've lost over a long period on bad cigars...It happens from time to time and that's just how it is!
