Anyway, what the hell is the big deal with slobbing knobs all over CCs? I get they're good but they're not the end all be all of smokes. Saying CCs are the best cigars ever is like saying your last BJ is the best BJ ever. Any REAL man would say the next BJ will be the next best, as least in my case. No matter what, each one is good. If you ask me, which most of you pompus CC slobbers wouldn't anyway, there are a TON of NC cigars that could and would rock a CCs ass anyday. I have plenty of CCs in my humi generously gifted to me by many brothers on this site. Know what I grab when I go in my humidor? I like La Flor Domincana Cameroon Cabinet No. 1s, oooohs noooos dirt Dominican tobacco!

I guess my point is that I'm drunk, and well I don't get along with the pompous aspect of holding CCs up on a pedestal. You might as well take a shot in the mouth by the dude that writes for Cigar Aficionado. Maybe you'll get enough CC flavor through injection since that's all he smokes.....

I'd like to do a blind taste test with $100 ea. CCs and $10 NCs to see what people liked more. So who wants to donate the $100+ ea. smokes and who wants to donate their "garbage" NCs?

To be frank, there is a reverse snobbery about NCs that gets on my nerves. The mere fact that someone prefers CCs to NCs gets some people riled up and angry, and they rant, tearing down straw men. That's as pointless as the tiny minority of people who truly believe CCs are so good that there's no point in ever smoking a NC stick.

Let people smoke what they like, and don't worry about what you think their preferences mean!

I don't know about snobbery but I have to agree with the CC hype. I have had plenty of CC's and would rather have a good Dominican most of the time. Don't get me wrong, CC's are good, I'll smoke and enjoy them just like the next guy but I don't think they're the cigars to end all of cigars. And no, I'm not saying that NCC's are either.

I think a lot of the hype, fascination or whatever you want to call it has to do with them being legally unattainable in this country. So that adds to their mystique and what most people think of them. It's like this. Say there's a 1000 year old scotch out there that is only reserved for certain people to own. Say it's illegally for everyone else to own. The scotch could taste like a $30 bottle of jamesons, but it wouldn't matter, most every one would want some. If it did taste like a $30 of jamesons, do you think the people that owned it would admit that? Or would they swear it was the best scotch they ever had. If you were one of the people who weren't lucky enough to own it and had spent a long time hearing about it and coveting it. When you finally got our hands on some, would you admit to it tasting like $30 jamesons or would you too swear it was the best scotch also?

Just my opinion.
