Great way of describing the cigar development process and I also cannot wait for these. Four Kicks has been one of my go to brands and I have turned all of my friends onto the brand. I am sure I will not be disappointed.

Nice blog entry. I could really relate as I've done a similar size vegetable/herb patch for years. I've always tried to grow things I couldn't buy in the store, like orange cauliflower, purple beans etc. One year I grew 9 different types of basil and made pesto (among other things) from each type. I learned that you really only need 3 kinds of basil and my favorites were lemon basil - for fish, purple ruffles - it's beautiful and good in salads, and green ruffles - it's big and flavorful for heartier cooking. Although, what I eat the most today is thai basil that they serve in Pho restaurants.

The Four Kicks is great, The Headley Grange is even better. If The J.D. Howard Reserve is even better, I'm in trouble.

Keep up the challenging, but gratifying work.

I'm sooooo looking forward to getting my hands on these! Thanks for posting the info and for sticking to traditional cigar values. Something were seeing less of in today's market.

Nice article Jon. There is something fundamental yet grand in toiling the earth, and you are correct, the process (beget journey) is really what matters in the end.

Gotta love the forums! ;) Great article, and wonderful pic of your new stick! I too look forward
to trying it. I love your analogies too John! As one brotha already stated, you're a great writer!
(and one hell of a manufacturer as we already know!)

BOTL - As this crazed-Friday comes to a close, I just wanna say THANK YOU for the kind words of encouragement--both on our cigars and my 'writing' (if you can call it that--lol).

To be clear: I am NOT a "manufacturer"--all of those accolades belong to Ernesto Perez-Carrillo (a true icon AND gentleman in this business) and his team at Tabacalera La Alianza. They are the talented people who bring our ideas/concepts/dreams from vision to fruition. Credit should be given where credit is due.

I'm just a guy who began (and still is) as a 'cigar geek'--who's spent the last 17 years of my life in this industry of ours. I guess if you stick around long enough, they let ya make a cigar or two. ;)

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there--and thank you to everyone who has supported Crowned Heads!

God Bless,

Jon Huber
