My local has the Johnnie Walker Sampler 4 pack for 56.99. The sampler includes 4 200ml bottles of the following,

Johnnie Walker Red Label
Johnnie Walker Black Label
Johnnie Walker Gold Label
Johnnie Walker Blue Label

I’ve always wanted to try the overpriced/over hyped Blue Label. The thing I can’t figure is isn’t the 200ml bottle of Blue alone worth @$50.

So, this seems like a fantastic deal, unless I’m missing something?

Is it worth it to buy this to try the Blue/Gold for the first time?
Thanks

Man, what's with all this scotch talk this morning? Every post that pops up is about a brand of scotch! It's 9:30am people! Now I'm craving some...

Seems like a great deal to me James! Especially since the blue label goes for about $215 here before taxes. Oh & it definitely lives up to the hype!

Looks like a good deal. Too bad it doesn't include a sample of JW Green, though, that's my favorite. I find Blue a little on the boring side. Too smooth, not enough peat and spice. Green is where it's at.

Come to think of it, my last bottle is almost gone! May be time to stock up.

yes, have some! that works out to just over a fifth size bottle, and if a quarter of it is blue, THAT should run $50. OUTSTANDING way to try the top tier without investing.

and yes, wish it had green and double black. o)

You could always buy 5 of them, and for the price of a bottle of Blue label (or there abouts) you could have a liter of all 4 bottles.

Just picked up two, one for me and one for a fellow BOTL.

The guy at the store said they were discounted because the holidays are over and msrp is usually around 69.99? go figure

(another store by me sells the mini bottles of blue for 19.99 which I've been tempted to buy but glad I waited)

looking forward to trying Blue and Gold for the first time!

JW green, gold and double black (new) all rock - pass on full bottles of the blue unless you score it at duty free or other similar discount.

Wouldn't you like to know?

I am right here on the Blue as well. If you are not a big whiskey drinker Blue is amazing. Incredibly smooth and easy drinking. For me those are the exact reasons I am not a huge fan. Goes down a little too easy and not enough going on for me. Pretty sad to say but a little too refined for my tastes

JW isn't my cup of tea. I feel there are a lot better bottles for the same price.. BUT that is a great deal if you want to try all of their lines, especially the old Blue.
