I was pissed when they announced it, cause I thought he should have at least got a couple top 10 fights first to make sure he's ready, and not bring him up to fast.

I still think Bones will dominate, which is more a testament to his skill, as he's not even close to his prime.

He may have a GSP type rein.

what a terrible fight.
Rua was at a huge size dissavantage, if not for that... then it would have been a better fight, and someone who does not have as much experience, like Jones, would have been beaten.
Hard to fight someone with such long reach, that you have to run at to get a punch in...

Given the years he's fought and the names he's faced he should've been better prepared to face a guy who knows how to use his reach. The lhw belt continues.

I see a GSP type reign at LHW. Might have a hiccup at some point, but he's going to dominate for a while. Eventually they will throw Anderson at him for a super fight, cause no one at LHW can compete with this guy.

I can't wait to see him knock Rashad's chiclets out.

The size wasn't the only issue. The strength is what throws people off. He takes guys to the ground, and reverses position at will.

Complete package of Defense, strength, size, and ridiculous striking. I don't think his chins ever been tested, so who know what will happen if he ever gets clipped. Brock found out the hard way what its like to take a punch for the first time in a fight.

Agreed but even if you put size and strength aside Shogun had nothing going for him in this fight, Bones should've knocked him out 3 minutes into the first round either way Shogun gassed after the 1st round and had nothing left (possibly because of the knee injury suffered) the JJ game he'd been touting didn't work 'cause of Bones' defence.

Bottom line Jones had his man thoroughly scouted and knew how to counter Shogun on the ground.. Shogun on the other hand probably went in thinking one head kick and I knock this rookie out and ended up paying for it.
