Guys, I'm strongly thinking about taking advantage of the jr deal, where you buy a box and get 14 DE cigars for free. I'm trying to keep costs down, so buying a box of UC's is not possible right now. I can get a box of Joya Reds which seem to have gotten good reviews for a little over $80' and that would get me 34 cigars for that price. I hate buying a box of something I've never tried, but I'm also thinking I could sell some of these to a friend of mine at a deep discounted rate.

Has anyone tried these? Any thoughts?

I had a few, they weren't bad. Different than the UC tho. I got more pepper from it and I think it was medium to mild strength. It did not leave a lasting impression on me but it wasn't a bad cigar in any way, just not a mind blower.

FWIW, I think it has more complexity in the larger vitolas (I smoked the Robusto and Toro). But, having experienced that song and dance, I like the Short Churchill. Still delicious, still complex... just an abridged version. It's perfect for somebody like me who prefers smaller vitolas.

Thanks guys, I think I will do it. The 14 bonus smokes is a great deal, and I love medium cigars as well as full. That would work out to be a little over $2 a stick in all, and I've really wanted to try the muwat and fire cured.

That's a great deal. If I hadn't already spent too much money on sticks this month I would do it. The MUWAT is pretty good.

If it works on any box for the price I'd see if you can get a box of Dark Corojo Peligroso. Those are bomb as hell and should be about the same.

Personal opinion here but the only Drew cigar I have had that I did not care for is the kfc. That being said I have not had the jdn red but have had the others and they are great.

Joya Red is not actually a DE cigar... all the Joya products (Antano, Antano Dark Corojo, Cuatro Cinco, Classico, etc.) are made exclusively by the JDJN factory entirely with their own leaf, team, and blenders. These cigars are imported and distributed on JDN's behalf by DE.

Some DE cigars like KFC and Muwat are made by JDN on behalf of DE, these blends were created by DE and some of the leaf is provided by DE for those blends.

The JDN factory has always been one of Nica's best and imo, under the recent stewardship of Alejandro's son Juan Martinez it is on the cusp of even greater success.

This is no help but I keep meaning to try the Red, but with the Antano Dark in my way, it's sorta like Ramon Bueso; I can't pass up Genesis in order to try Odessey...
