Hey guys,

I did some digging on the site but came up a bit short. Is the JL2 really creamy like the reviews at other sites say? I'm looking for a creamy/woodsy smoke as I'm on that kind of kick right now.

Is the JL2 the right stick? It's a good price so I'm considering it. Anything else in that price range that is super creamy and woodsy?

Thanks!

Yeah, its creamy/woodsy I would say. Certainly hits the spot for me. I should probably acquire more. It's a good smoke for sure. Possibly check out the HdM Ep2 as well.

I'm a fan of both the JL1 and the JL2. I would describe them as more twangy than creamy woodsy. But that being said, I would be surprised if you were disappointed with them. I haven't tried them ROTT and have only smoked them after resting for a couple years. Most CC's do better with age. Are you planing to smoke them right away?

With fresh production, I find them more with wood and leather flavors. They seem to mellow and take on a "creamier" flavor with some decent age, but I think you might be disappointed if you expect creaminess from a fresh box.

I dunno.... even relatively fresh ones seem to have that sweet cream richness to em. Though to be fair my box was 2013

These are a treat....I put a half box of these away for over a year while I smoked the others from 30 days to about 7 months and the longer they hibernate the better. One thing I noticed on these is that around 2 months the flavor tends to 'burst' and it is a really satisfying cigar because you kind of get a rich and chewy taste to it....for those who like to get that fresh taste of a freshly rolled cigar then this is that time to smoke these. If you like a well balanced cigar that doesn't slap you with a "fresh out of the box" taste then let these marinate...either way it's a really good cigar.

Well I went a different route. Ordered a 15ct box of Monte Edmundo's :)

I'll grab those JL2's by the end of the month if all goes well.
This cracks me up. Can't tell you how many times I went to order some cigar or other, and ended up surprising myself by ordering something else entirely.

He says this AFTER I order the Edmundo's :)
I don't think you could go wrong either way. I'd take the Edmundo over the JL2 personally, but both are good.

JL2 needs some time for my taste to tone it down a notch. I don't like them fresh, but a recent 2013 I had was excellent. So i ordered a cab!

The Edmundo family (DE, Ed, PE) are some of my favorites. Sweet, creamy, chocolate deliciousness with a little time. Whatever it was that guided you to click on those, great choice:)

Awesome, thanks! I was looking for a creamy cigar and had read that the Edmundo had those notes you just mentioned above :) Relieved that I made a good choice! Your post has me wanting to try the PE and the DE now... it never ends does it?!?!

A cab of 2013 JL2's huh? Sounds awesome!

LOL! It happens basically every time for me too. I STILL haven't bought the Boli PC's. Those are on my radar as well.

Underrated smoke. I had a less than memorable experience w/ JL2 years ago and so I didn't make a point of trying them again until a friend recommended one from a box he picked up last year. Fantastic. Just returned from ISOM with a box.... I think I'll have one tonight!
