Just introducing myself. New here and new to cigars. Been smoking less than a year. Just got my first hmidor give to me and a nicer one on the way. Nothing fancy, just practical.
Joined to learn about storage and care. Also to get an couple of recomendations to what I might like from seasoned experts.
JUst to understand, live in southern Canada, and have a limited budget. 5 years agor gave up drinking and cigerettes due to life desicions (wife, kids influence, health). Come to love a nice Americano Coffee and a Nice Cigar when having to work late at home in the garage.
My favorite Cigar right now with a bit of a budget is Montecristo #5. If my budget is one cigar per allowence I would deffinately go with Cohiba Singlo I, Everyday Cigar right now is Quorum Toro or BrickHouse Toro. Both Nicaraguaian. I have to say I have tried the Mighty Buduro and did not like them. Have tried Don Tomas Classico and Sun Grown. Did not like my tongue after those. Will not try Don Tomas Brands again without advice. Tried the Cao Concerts and did not like the salty taste. Have tried a Cao Gold sampler and loved the Gold but not the Muduro. Even bought a Box of Cao Gold Rubusto Tubos. First box purchased. Not smoking any of those. Three down, 7 left. Going into my cabinet some day. But I have questions and want recommendations. Have a few guys I know, but I am not frendly with that smoke and they stearme to different types. But have not like the ones he have traded with me.
For Humidor I have been using a given to me Humidor. It's appears to be of Spanish cedar construction with a veneer applied to it. The veneer has peeled off and it appears to be the ture be solide cedar. Just ordered a glass top humidor off Ebay. Looks like a 40-50 count humidor. Ordered an adjustable digital Hyprometer along with Boveda 65% pouches. Plan on seasoning the new humdor after a good wipe down with Iso as per you threads. Will be searching and reading for some time.
Again just looking for information, will not try to be a pest.
