Some of you may already know. I am a college student. Yes, at 45 I have been going to college. I have been at a community college for 3 years getting my AA degree. I will graduate from there this semester. I have just been admitted into ASU in Phoenix. I am so happy about this right now I cannot explain. I was never a good student in high school but I have been keeping a 3.25 gpa now. I am going to ASU with a major in Social Work. My goal is a Masters in Social Work and want to work with veterans on life readjustments after war. Being someone with PTSD myself I know how hard life can be. I just want to help my fellow veterans with life and show them they can do it.

To say the least I am very happy right now.

Dude, I am 47 and still in school. While it may be grad school, there are students older than us, in CCs, Universities/Colleges, and graduate schools of all kinds, INCLUDING medicine!

Congratulations. I will let you know when I visit my sis in Phoenix and the smoke is on me!

Well done!

That is great! You are doing almost exactly what my wife is doing. She is a vet and wants to help vets with PTSD and chemical dependancy issues, which I have learned through her, often go hand in hand.

Congrats again and I have great respect for you going back to school. My wife and I are both going currently and it isn't the easiest way but it will be worth it when we are done!

I am ecstatic for you and your future goals in life. The veterans need us now more than ever.

Ok, I should have read the rest of your post.

I am about to graduate with my Master's in Clinical SW and sit for the LISW exam in February.

I attend the Mandel School in Cleveland. PM me anytime. I am finishing my 3rd clinical rotation, one of which was at the VA on an inpatient critical care behavioral health unit. PM me anytime.

Well done, Rob.

Just so you know, unlike other schools and professions, the SW culture respects age and life experiences. GOOD FOR YOU!

Dude, Rob, that's AWESOME! Super congrats bro. That's a big accomplishment and something to be very proud of!

But wait, does that mean you will be down here more? Cause if so, maybe it isn't so great? :)
