When I started buying cigars a few months ago, I'd take them out of the cellophane when I put them in the humi. I've traded a few here and some com in still wrapped and some don't. Today I started to smoke a La Flor Dominiacana that was still in the wrapper. It's been in the humi for a few weeks and it stays at 65-70% depending on how cold it is outside.

When I took the plastic wrapper off it was as dry as a bone and the cigar wrapper just crumbled.

So I'm wondering if it's better to take them out of the cellophane or does it make a difference at all?

as far as i can tell, it's personal preference. i have heard of cutting a little off of the tip of the cello if you're planning on keeping it on, allowing more humi-climate to circulate through the sticks.

i take the cello off. i just like it better that way.

I don't know why, but I think the Oliva Series 'G' Maduro tastes better when left in the celo. My first one was gifted to me and it was great. Aged 3 months in celo. I bought 20 more of them and could notice right away the 3 months rest really helps them develop. I noticed after 3-4 months they were a bit more bland than the ones in the celo.

Who knows.
