Just found out the reason for his shortness of breath is not the COPD but lung cancer. They aren't sure how advanced it is until; further tests but the HMO has already stated they won't bother operating. Not worth the investment, they say, because he is 83 and has other medical problems.

Thoughts and prayers sent brother. I know exactly how tough this one is. I lost my Grandmother and Great Aunt to it and my Grandfather and Great Uncle both have it. It's really tough but you just have to enjoy the time you have to the best of your ability.

I feel your pain. If not for Tricare I'm sure my dad would be passed up with all his current health problems. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him, brother!

This is about the 10th time in a year that someone's family I knew or interact with has been diagnosed with lung cancer....Either it is becoming more prevalent or I am just getting old...
