keeping track of date and price

I'm looking for a good system to keep track of when cigars are bought price and any notes while storing. I don't have any cigar bands yet and thought people might like to share how they keep track.

This is what I use.

I put mine in 5 finger bags, and print out a label with the what/where of it all. I can grab a fiver that way and know which shop it came from or who I bought them from. It's as simple as one label saying "Outlaw - May 2013" and that bag is done.

I've recently started using the Cigar Boss app on my iPhone...

I've never been good at keeping up with labeling, etc.. much less actually tracking an inventory... Trying to get a little better now about recording actual dates sticks go down for their naps.. Keeping track of where a stick came from.. And knowing exactly what I've got on hand...

I use 1/2"x3/4" White Labels. I get em at Wally World or Office Depot. I simply put date and any other notes on label and slap em on.

I use Stogierate.com. I also cut tiny strips and put dates on em when they go in my humidor. Slide em behind the band and your good to go.

Stogie rate has some cool features. There is cigar roulette. If your having trouble picking a smoke, you click play and it will pick something in your inventory for you.

It also keeps stats on all the sticks you have. Pretty cool.

I just use an excel spreadsheet and self adhesive cigar bands to differentiate when I have multiples of the same stick from different years.

I just use a simple note book. Write down where and when I got them. Keep notes of what I thought of each smoke. Then follow that up yearly to see how they age. That way each month you get a few smokes to look foward to as their time comes up. All that works great for boxes. Singles I'll put stickers on the cello if there's more than one date or source.

I made an excel spreadsheet and updated it for a year and a half. Since a few months back I just tossed it...lazy as heck

I started using Cigar Geeks virtual humidor feature a couple months ago and it is fantastic! I also have the Cigar Geeks android app on my phone which syncs to your virtual humidors. So I always have my stash with me and I can update and take notes while on the go.

As for bands, I've been looking for some good ones for a while now and I just found these online. http://www.onlinelabels.com/ol381.htm I haven't ordered any yet, but they have them in several shapes and they look very promising. I'll certainly share my opinion when I get a hold of some.

I just write the date directly on the cigar with a Sharpie.

Actually, I write it on the cellophane if there is any. If there's no cellophane, I write it on a small adhesive label and stick it to the band.
