So today I have been in a semi-grumpy mood. I was "given" the day off today and by that I man they're trying to cut back on the number of hours at work. It's the slow time of the year, what ya gonna do :dunno:. Well at least I could sleep in...wrong. The wife woke up at 5:00 this morning and decided since she couldn't sleep she was going to turn on the TV :closedmou. So finally I get up cause trying to sleep is useless. Haven't really decided what to do with my day...not like it's warm out so I can't golf or fish or anything. Can't take the kid to the park either. Chores it is :frown:. I spend the morning cleaning the tortoise cages, turtle tank, and snake cages. In the process of cleaning the box turtle's tub out, my son decided it would be a good idea to turn the light on. No big deal except it was laying on the carpet and I didn't see him do it. What's that smell? Oh shit! Narrowly avoided a fire. Finally the wife leaves for work and kid goes down for a nap...peace and quiet. Frankie boy drops by (and if you hadn't heard HIS BIRTHDAY IS COMING UP!) to deliver a Christmas card. I discovered it was actually relatively warm out on the porch if you stayed in the sun. Cool. So I broke out a cigar...Illusione HL. Puffing along nicely, chatted briefly with the mail man when he passed through. Looked down and my cigar is unraveling :frown:. Did the best I could, but a little disappointed. Good thing I have another to revisit. Fast forward a bit, I've just finished making dinner and I'm covered in dough and flour. I sit down for a bit, a little grumpy from the day. My son has been messing with the remote, ends up putting it on a music channel. He loves the music channels. Just happens to be If Today Was Your Last Day by Nickelback. He runs over, grabs my arm, and insistently pulls me up. He insists on dancing. It was while dancing with my kid that I realized today could have been way worse and I had absolutely no reason to be grumpy. Turned my day around. Count your blessings and God bless the little ones.

I have that same type of experience with my 2 boys...they LOVE to hear music of any kind. If a certain commercial comes on with music that they both like, they stop what they are doing and dance. I can't help but smile and be amazed at their ability to change their mood so fast...and almost anything makes them happy. I love how children can change your outlook and mood, they really are the greatest gift !

My kids are so excited this morning. They all woke up with big smiles. My 4.5 year old told me "Papa, Santa is coming to our house tonight" with his eyes wide open and huge smile.

That's awesome, Dan! Harrison is so adorable, too! Or as my son would say... "that kid that kept screaming on my slide" ... and "it's dan the bug man's son"!!

Not a day goes by that Daniel (my son) doesn't make me smile, or crack up!

I'm glad Harrison vaulted your spirits out of the weeds!
