I managed to get my hands on some of this coffee. I got in green beans and roasted some a couple days ago. Y'all know this is the bean mentioned in the movie "bucket list". It's made from coffee beans harvested after being eaten by a civet cat. I don't know who came up with the idea of going through civet cat droppings, getting the beans and then selling them, but it sure makes a helluva cup of coffee. LOL
It's very smooth and robust. Rich. This is without a doubt the best coffee I've ever tasted. I thought Jamaican Blue Mountain or Kona were great. This blows them away. Too rich, in taste and price, for an everyday coffee, but this is one for the books. I'm gonna savor every drop.
If y'all ever get a chance to try this, do it, you won't be sorry.

Like the coffee.....like the cigar?

The most exotic coffee-infused cigar you’ll ever burn.

Kopi Luwak is unique from A to Z. Dressed in a beautiful Brazilian maduro wrapper, this flavorful handmade utilizes a long-leaf mixture of Cuban-seed seco and ligero tobaccos from the Dominican Republic. Every leaf within this blend is carefully influenced by kopi luwak coffee from the island of Sumatra. Considered to be the rarest coffee in the world, let alone the most expensive, Kopi Luwak presents a dense, rich bouquet of mocha, caramel-like flavors. These flavors are represented perfectly in Kopi Luwak by Oliveros, a tasty, mild to medium-bodied smoke complemented by a pleasantly sweet tip that’ll serve as the ultimate change of pace.

Hahahahahahaha

Never tried the cigar, don't think I want to if the harvest process is the same as the coffee beans.

I'd try it once...I love the Jamaican Blue & Kona. Usually get the Kona cos the Jam is so costly. How do you find that stuff? Who sells it?
You can get it at[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Kopi-Luwak-Ground-Coffee/dp/B001A4B8EM"] Amazom.com [/ame]

I had a few pounds of this in my personal collection and kept waiting for a 'special' occasion to roast it. It's kind of like saving a cigar for a special occasion...what occasion warrants it?
Anyway, this past summer I needed to come up with something for a local charitable auction so I roasted a couple pounds. I donated 1lb to the auction (it went for $210) and gifted some local friends and customers with the rest, aside from what I drank myself.
Due to the price and hype and all I'd kind of written this stuff off as a novelty and was prepared to be underwhelmed. Boy was I wrong!
It was indeed the most unique coffee I have ever tasted and was incredibly good. Like S&H said, it was sooo smooth, but with a very heavy body and an awesome and very long aftertaste.
I am looking forward to roasting the small amount I have left. :)
