Did anybody out there grab/smoke any of these? Its a R. Field Wine Co exclusive for their 30th and is supposed to be the final exclusive size for a retailer with the La Colmena. More info here: http://halfwheel.com/la-colmena-amado-no-407/97003

I was super interested when I heard La Colmena + lance, but that $23.50 price point has kept me away. I thought the damn Reinas were expensive at $16, but this is a whole entirely different level I feel. I just can't justify it, and believe me, I've tried.

But if you have had them how are they? I'd love to hear some opinions on these.

Wow. I didn't realize they were that expensive. Especially when you consider that you can get the 6x36 for $12.50 ($11.25 on Small Batch). Is it just the Hawaiian taxes?

Just bought two boxes at ~157 (minus 10%) = 141.30... Divided by ten sticks is 14.13.

Compared to the 135 (with discount) Reina's or equally priced Unico tins, not too bad.

I just ordered a box of paniolo and a box of these from Marvin and they are waiting for me at post office. Can't wait to pick up both. Great guy to work with... Missed this discount by a few days it looks like but I don't care. Just glad to get these exclusives Thanks Marvin

Wow, ok, I had no idea the halfwheel pricing was so far off. How the hell does that happen? It says right in the review that they purchased the cigars. How do you buy the damn cigars and not know how much they cost? Unless of course the exchange went like this:
- Hello, this R Field Wine Co, how can I help you?
- I'm looking for the La Colmena lances from your 30th anniversary.
- Oh yes, excellent. We can get some of those out to you, the cost is 157.50 per box.
- Oh great I'll take a box. We're from halfwheel and we'll be reviewing them.
- You're from halfwheel? Well, I didn't know you douchebags were getting these, the new price is $235.
- I thought you said it was $157.50?
- The new price for you assjockeys is $235, take it or leave it.

That's just a guess though.

Haha nice!
They paid $157.50 for the box. They erroneously calculated the 50% Hawaii tobacco tax. The tax is on the wholesale price, not the retail price and applies to in-state purchases only.

I've ordered from Marvin in the past, and had a great experience. He's a standup brother, and great to deal with! I have a couple singles headed my way (by way of trade with another brother), and can't wait to try these. Having been in Honolulu this past summer, I can say that HI tobacco taxes are ridiculous!

Marvin's a good dude. If you want the cigars and he has them, he'll hook you up. I've dealt with him over the years and plus, he lives in my old building so he has good taste. :)
