I picked up a box of La Riqueza's when NHC had them on special about 2 weeks ago, and these seem to be real flat in flavor. There were several of the cigars that had cracked wrappers (maybe because of dryness?) when I opened up the box.. The only flavor notes I get out of these are pepper and ash. Has anyone experienced the same flavor with these? Hopefully time can help these things..

I too bought a box of the La Riqueza Petit Robustos at NHC. I myself did not come across this. I was actually very pleased with them to be honest.

I say, let them age a few months and try it then. That sucks to hear, I hope the rest of them don't do the same.

I bought a box of these when they were on sale at NHC. They all have been smoking great. Perhaps as you stated you just got a dry box. Let them sit for a couple months and i think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I liked the flavor, but I think they are poorly constructed. I experienced a super loose draw on the 1st one and the 2nd one the wrapper exploded. The 3 I have had since then have been ok though.

Guess I need to smoke a couple from the box I bought. Been letting them sit cause we had a box of another vitola that has a year or two on it. Those are smoking so great right now.

My opinion is that the La Ricky's are best for the first month or two after the box date, and then a full year after that date. In the middle months, I've always found them flat. But hey, that's me.

for what it's worth I've smoked a full box and some out of another. Only had problems with one loose draw. The rest have been great.

I've smoked probably 50 of these, never had an issue at all. Just had one today actually and it was just superb. IF you have a lot of cracked wrappers I'd contact Dan at NHC about it - he's a stand up BOTL/retailer!

Well, I emailed Dan to see if he would exchange the 21 of 25 cigars that I have left. Hopefully he will help me out....

well I emailed Dan and he would refund my money but had no more Petit Robusto's for exchange. Therefore, I just kept them and hopefully they will get better with time.

i too bought a 25 cab from Dan when they went on sale a while ago. I smoked a couple and 1 was dry as you described, the others were fine. There was another one that had a really gnarly thick vein running along the side of the entire cigar. Other than those few, the rest of the box is good.

I too got a box when they went on sale at NHC a few months back. The first one I smoked very soon after I got the box was similar to what you describe, and I was very disappointed in the flavor. Maybe I just smoked it too soon as the ones I have had since then have been excellent.
