I've been digging on some of the HVC blends so I want to share my experience with my favorite from them with everyone. HVC cigars are made at Casa Fernandez and this one uses Aganorsa tobaccos, the same farms Pepin used early on.
HVC La Rosa 520- A 5.5 x 54 Nicaraguan puro with a corojo wrapper from the Jalapa region.
Appearnce/construction-The cigar is firm from head to foot with a lovely medium colorado color and small viens.
Draw/burn- A great draw with a slightly tempormental but not detracting burn.
Flavor/Aroma- Medium strength and full flavor.
1/3-Floral is dominant with cream, wood, nuts, white pepper, faint tea and carmel. A bit of a tanic mouthfeel, though the flavor makes me salivate.
2/3- Similar complexity, though floral is no longer dominant.
3/3- Again as the 2/3, now the tea flavor is no longer faint. Tanic is completely gone.
Burn time- 2 hours
Overall- This cigar has been a great treat, sadly its incredibly limited in production....only 150 boxes. All but but one of the La Rosa 520's I've smoked have been excellent experiences.
