I know some people have commented on how I label my cigars and I thought I would share. I decided to start labeling my cigars so that I would know what cigar it is, what vitola it is (and what that perticular brand calls that vitola) for when I wanted to purchase more, and when it was placed in my humi. Also, if I bomb someone with a bandless cigar, they would know what it is. So, I started making labels with name, specific blend, vitola, and date it was placed in the humi. Then, I then decided that I do not want to accidentally re-gift a cigar, so I changed my labels so that I can now put in how or where I got the cigar. If you want to use this idea I can tell you what labels to get and email you the template for them. The labels are very inexpensive, about $10 or $15 for 2,000 labels.

I've included a sample of both label styles as well as what it looks like on a cello. For cigars without a cello, I printed lines on a paper in a size that wraps around the cigar perfectly and will fit the label just right. I can email you that as well. You can also purchase the blank cigar bands to do this as well from Heartfelt industries (thanks Tatuaje Guy for the reminder). They're 500 for $17,95, 1,000 for $30.95, or 1500 for $43.95.

Brian, nice work my friend!

They look good....it wouldn't work for me because the first thing I do when I get them home is to get rid of the cello before they go in the humi.

I've been pondering an more organized approach, myself...

Looks like a quick and easy way to get it done.

Thanks for the post.

Same here man, I take the cello off every cigar in my humidor. I seriously think they smoke more consistent and age better in the long run, even though the cello keep in the aroma I suppose for aging singles? Who knows, haha.

Great system none the less, My humidor is 'Neat' but. Not orginized, good call!

I do a similar thing, but I keep track of my purchases and sticks in an Excel spreadsheet. I don't have many (if any) cigars of the same type from multiple times at this point, so I haven't run into any issues with wondering when I got X-a or X-b cigar.

For the guys who use no cello, I cut out strips of paper and wrap it around the cigar and adhere the label to it. Also, I just saw this: I normally put in the vitola to the left of the RG and length, but the one in the pic is it's only vitola. For example: Robusto (5" x 50) This helps when manufacturers use different names for their vitolas.
