Can't recall the story off the top of my head, but they didn't have the ingredients for whatever reason to make the regular Brown Shugga Holiday release this year...so the "sucks" holiday ale was created.

I must say.....i'm very happy it was.

Think Little Sumpin' Sumpin' meets Hop Stoopid...

Color me impressed. Any hop-lover should grab a six pack of this beer to try if you find it. I don't think you'll be upset you did. It will certainly give me another nice hoppy seasonal to mix in w/ the Sierra Nevada Celebration.

It's similar to what SweetWater did in their Dank Tank Series when they released "Ghoulash." For a beer with 14 different Hops in it it's like a party in your mouth!

I'm drinking a Lagunitas "Imperial Stout" now and in my opinion one of the best Imperial Stouts on the market!

Went back to the store to stock up on a few more 6 packs....as this has overtaken the Celebration IMO...which had been a longstanding Xmas favorite.

The only "sucks" part of this ale, is that this particular beer won't be back next year!

We just a couple of kegs of the Lagunitas IPA, this weekend, for the bar. The rep gave me a case of Sucks and of the CZEC lager, for an incentive to keep them around.

It's so well loved that there is a petition for this to be a permanent holiday release

Wasn't ingredients, they were short on brewing capacity. They've expanded quite a bit in the last year or so...so I found it odd they were short on capacity.

Yup... The owner was saying he'd have to cut off his year 'round beers for a moment to brew this one and that the ingredients are so expensive for brown shugga that he was selling it at a loss :dunno: Kind of silly considering the expensive beers out there and how quickly they're snapped up. But, Lagunitas is considered a value craft beer in my book so a higher than normal price tag might not have been greeted with open arms.

If you see this stuff in the stores...buy it. Saw 3 cases at a store last weekend, and almost bought one...but said I'd come back next weekend as I still had a few 6 packs left. When I did go back today....all gone. Every market I've went to where I saw it in the past, has also been cleaned out.

Think folks are catching on to how good this is dammit!
