Lazy Man's Humidity Control

I've decided that I'm going to test a new method to keep my humidor. I was using an Cigar Oasis humidifier and two pounds of Heartfelt beads. That shifted from misting the beads to just putting a wet sponge on a tray to add humidity along with the COH. I just purchased 2 more pounds of beads that I will pour into an old cigar box with needlepoint backing as a cover. I'm going to remove the COH have a much larger sponge add the humidity, if the hydrometer goes over 71% the alarm will sound and I'll pull sponge till humidity drops below 69%

I find the lazy mans humidity control is Kitty Litter! I have had my cooler nearly one year and have added distilled water once in that time. I have a cooler and about four pounds of crystal kitty litter, humidity runs 62-70% with temps running 64-71 degrees.

I have been using kitty litter for over 2 years in my 170 btl wineador. 10# Worth was about $10 and it works great. I have to recharge them about twice a year and it takes all of 2-3 minutes to do.

Like they said ^^^^ kitty litter is my lazy (and chaep) way. I add a spritz of water a couple of time a year. RH stays 65 - 70%
