He was a major teen idol in the 70's. Debuted in the movie Bob&Carol&Ted&Alice and then did a bunch of guest parts on sitcoms until he tried to be a rock star and tanked. It's been all downhill from there.

He was one of the teen idols my wife went :awholelot over. She got over him a long time ago though. She still goes to Rick Springfield concerts, even takes my girls now.
