Ok, so I know it is still a ways off, but cant wait for this fight? Any body have early predictions on who will come out on top, in what fashion and how far into it? I think it will end in the second round, with Lesnar ground and pounding. Overeem will deal Lesnar some good knees and kicks initially, but Lesnar will eventually get a take down and go to work.

Unless Brock's learned to take a punch since his last fight gotta go with Overeem on this one. Hard to pick Brock when he has no counter punching or boxing defense.

Agreed, plus he is prone to cuts so it could be a stoppage there too even if his head is hard enough to block the punches.

Figured a bump was in order for this since the fight is FINALLY right around the corner. Any body watching it or doing anything special? I am sure I am going to get together with the Marine Detachment down here for a grill out and drinks and will introduce them all to some good cigars. I still think Lesnar will come out in the end...who knows. I just hope that it isnt a big fizzle, better be some good blows exchanged.

Wish they broadcasted the fights down here but since they don't I'll just have to depend on the internet stream or watch it the following day.. either way two beats going at each other Lesnar's speed and wrestling against Overeem's striking and submission game. Still gotta go with the striker in this one Lesnar's got balls but they'll only get you so far.

One day to go! Will be going to the Marine House for this one for good drinks and am planning on bringing a fair amount of smokes to share with all the guys there. Just watched the press conference, should be good. Also future fight for the Heavyweight Championship should be good, no matter who advances from this fight.

Yea I hope it continues. So your picks are the complete opposites from my picks... the beauty of UFC though, anything can happen. A guy can be getting pummled then find an opening for a submission and win it all. You cant look away cause it can all end so fast.

AHHHHH so just got back from watching the fights, I was so frustrated the whole night that people there thought that I had money riding on them. First, WOW, John Finch I had as the clear winner, he got KOd in 12 seconds. I thought Diaz would win, but I wanted the Cowby to...why didnt he throw more kicks and go for some submissions towards the end? And Lesnar Overeem... DONT GET ME STARTED. WHY DIDNT LESNAR GO IN STRONG FOR THE TAKE DOWNS. He did a sissy attempt and didnt finish. Then he tried to go toe to toe with Overeem and obviously got rocked. IT WAS BILLED AS WRESTLER FIRST STRIKER....SO WHY DIDNT LESNAR TRY TO WRESTLE. We all knew Allistar has deadly kicks and especially knees. So overall frustrating night, but as I said before in this post, anything can happen in the UFC in a split second, and that is why you cant look away.

Yep, we all figured it as the fight was being called. With his past medical condition and the long road on recovery only to loose, it was time. Smart move on his part, shame in the way that it had to end for him.

Brock's best/only chance in this fight was to come out storming or bull rush as Rogan likes to call it and take down Alaister kinda scratched my head when I saw him bouncing out trying to throw leg kicks. He was definitely scared of getting hit and was way out of range to even throw a punch.. the way the fight ended was just sad he sat there waiting for the ref to stop it he had plenty of room to try and stand up or attempt a take down instead he turtled up and waited for the stoppage.

From the interviews with Brock, I think he felt that he had worked hard on the non-wrestling aspects of his game and he wanted to show that he now had the skills to climb the mountain and stay there. Guess he learned a few truths about facing an opponent with years and years of training and skills.

Great to see Alistar finally getting some of the respect I think he has long deserved. Even Dana was putting him down before the match.
