Yeah, that'll make me nervous for the next couple of years. Doesn't mean I won't go in the water, but I'll be jumpy for sure. I figure, with the exception of a Great White, you can fight most of the sharks in our waters, and live. That doesn't mean you won't be going to the ER, and leaving with some bad ass scars, but you most likely won'y die. I know one thing, I am not going to die to a shark with out a fight. With of course the exception of the Great White. That guy pretty much wins every time.

Scary stuff. One thing I don't do anymore is swim around dawn or dusk. That's the primary feeding times for most shark species. I'm not saying you won't get attacked at other times, but the chances are a little less likely.

i dove la jolla cove and the la jolla kelp beds (visibility 25 ft on a good day) numerous times.... just south of solana beach! in the kelp beds, it reminds me of the scene in jaws 2, where they're diving, and the shark comes out of no where! toast!!

our sheriff helicopter unit is call ASTREA. it was interesting hearing them on the radio today, "10-8, shark patrol...."
