GOD! You know some stupid ass politician in our country will think that's a good idea and try to pass that shit. There goes any hopes and dreams I have of working for myself opening a cigar/coffee shop. These assholes are running some of their best tax revenues into the damn ground. If I really wanted to stop smoking I'd do it. I don't need government help to do that, or raise kids, or lose weight, or well an infinite number of things.

I would have bought a license as soon as I turned 18 even though I didn't smoke. What cool 18-year-old wouldn't buy one just to say they had one?

We as cigar smokers are lumped into "smokers" as a category. I really don't consider myself one, as cigar smoking is a hobby and I look at it like drinking wine. Just because I may enjoy a glass of wine or two with a nice meal doesn't really make me a "drinker" in my opinion. I guess my thinking is backwards. Either way, we as a group are fast becoming an endangered species. I can see 5 or 10 years down the road this hobby becoming very difficult to enjoy and that's really sad. I don't mean to be a total pessimist or go on a rant, but I really think deep down inside that smoking is going to become a very rare thing in the next 10-15 years and cigar production and sales dramatically decreasing as a result. If it's not the extremely rare places you are allowed to smoke...it's going to be the extremely high taxes that are on the fringe right now.

I'll say it again...We are fast becoming an endangered species.
