Liga Privada UF-13 packing issues?

So I was so excited today when my box of UF-13's arrived. I've been hunting for months for a box of these and I finally stuck gold. As I remove the plastic wrap and begin to open the box, my heart sinks as I see shavings of tobacco scatter over the cedar liners and in the creases of the box. Slowly I lift up the cedar liners to see the horror I had feared. Pure carnage... Half of these have already lost their cabeza colita caps, and another half are damaged and cracked in the wrappers. The box it was shipped in had no damage and appeared to be packed securely with proper padding, so I can only assume that either the postman used this as a soccer ball, or these sticks were rolling and shifting around loose in the box during transport, and every small movement caused them to bang against one edge or the other. Has anyone else heard of or seen anything like this?

Damn dude. A local B & M got a box in with about half the caps snapped off 2, but there were no wrapper issues, at least that I saw. Where did you get them from? I'd contact who or wherever you got them from immediately and if you get nothing from them then I'd hit up DE about it. Both Steve Saka and JD are members on here and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to hook you up. Sorry that you have to deal with a PITA like that.

That's not normal, I bet something happened during shipping. I have never seen that happen that I know of. Horrible luck but maybe it can be set straight.

Heartbreaking. I actually picked up a few from a local B&M and when I got home I noticed 2 of them had cracked wrappers and another 1 of them had a cracked cap. I'm going to do what I can to salvage them. Who knows when we'll see any more.

That really sucks. I bought a couple, and they seem to be fine. Sometimes with cigars that rolled a unique way they become more fragile IMO.

Talk about a 180. You have the highest high of getting some great cigars and then the lowest low seeing that carnage!! I would have shed a couple of tears! Definitely need to talk with the vendor!!!!

Seems like this happens a lot when these aren't cello'ed. I remember with the FFPs, the tail fell off in many cases thus they went to cello. Interestingly, never saw this with the LP9 pigs.
Not to worry though, the guys at DE are amazing when it comes to cust service. This'll get taken car of. G1

I was given a severely damaged uf13 from a local B&M for free. He said it came boxed that way, and couldn't sell it. Tough break bro for such a prized haul. Hope something good of it comes for ya!!!!

I got a box and several of mine were damaged too, no to the extent of yours, but several were cracked and some had the tails/fans broken off. They're all smokable so I didn't worry too much about it. You'd think with the box built the way it is, they'd be snug but I could tell thy rolled a bit. Just some wax paper up to the caps would have saved all mine, I suspect. Anyway, tough break for you. Have you called the vendor yet?

Sounds like the box got dropped somewhere along the line. That sucks, bro, sorry!

For something this pricey, I'd ask for a replacement.

I just opened the box last night so I haven't had a chance to call the vendor yet, but I'm sure they don't have any more boxes since they went in a hurry. I'm sure I can get my money refunded, but really I just would like a smokable box The guys at DE are awesome, I've had nothing but great experiences with them, so maybe I can just contact them directly and see if I can send them the carnage and get a replacement box. I didn't post this to try and crap on DE, I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this, and if they have maybe DE needs to make some adjustments to the way they are packaged up.

That's horrible. I'm sure the vendor will make it right. Still, it suck to see good smokes go to waste.
