I smoked a No9 a few days ago and I smoked a T52 today. I felt the No9 delivered more flavor and more power than the T52 but the T52 is supposed to be the stronger of the two. I know we all have opinions on cigars and the flavor vs power vs personal pallet comes into play so Im curious... anyone else get the same experience as I did today?

I enjoy both the 9 and the T52s. I think I like the T52 better, but I dont know if thats because I enjoy it more or if it was simply hyped up more and my brain thinks I should enjoy it more. I had my first Papas Fritas the other day (made from 9 trimmings) and really enjoyed it. On that note, I think I'll do a T52 tonight, thanks for the inspiration :)

Z, I'm with you. I enjoy the No. 9 more-so than the T-52. Both are great smokes, but for me I think the No. 9 is just a bit more balanced, and has more of the flavor profile that I like. I think I'm going to go fire up an Undercrown now that we're talking about DE

i always thought the 9 is, and 'is supposed to be', the stronger of the two.

i think they both suck given their price point though.

they'd be great 6-7$ cigars, for a dollar or two more give me the uf13.

I've said this before but since there have been many threads on this, I will say it again.

I prefer fresh T52s. However, old #9s are fantastic.

Either way, I really do not like any of the newer ones and have not bought any #9 or T52 since December 2010. I simply do not like the new blend at all. Well, technically there is no new blend or so we have been told but for me they taste different now.

I enjoy an aged T52 to a No.9, personally.

Here are a few threads on this that might give you more insight.

Sometimes I feel like the words "Hall Monitor" needs to be permanently affixed under your Handle.
Thanks for being you.

As for the OP's Question: To me they seem identical in strength, with a heavy mouthfeel on the No9, and a more pronounced wood flavor on the t52... so then, for me, it just boils down to "what do i feel like today?"

I'd like to think I am a little nicer than a hall monitor! NO RUNNING IN THE HALLS!!

Also did you twitch when you put "SoCal" in your signature?!
