Anyone ever use Amazing Liquid Fire for drain blockage? Got a floor drain in the basement that is clogged supposedly from lint buildup from the washer drained water. Stuff looks pretty damn dangerous, sulfuric acid I believe. Any other solutions to clear the drain w/o an auger? Anyway to prevent the lint from going down the drain?

Are we sure it's lint that clogged it. Most laundry drains are close or below a kitchen and the, lines tie, together. Auger is the best way. Sulfuric acid can work but it is dangerous and can hurt old piping. How old is the house.

Can't be sure, I talked to a contractor friend of mine that had the same issue. House is 1925. The other lines in the house do not cause backup in the floor drain at all, only in the basement where the washer drains into the utility sink which goes to the hole in the floor. About 3 years ago I replaced the entire water out lines from the house to the road as I had settling clay pipes and tree root issues. Buddy also suggested using a lint filter on the end of the washer drain hose to prevent this in the future.

X2 on the lint filter. Sounds like it is just the laundry right now the best way to clear it is an auger in a house that old I would be reluctant to use strong chemicals. A savannah one mentioned with the correct end on the cable it should clean the pipe very well I would use a professional on this anyone can send a cable down a line however someone who does it for a living will do a better job of cleaning your pipe

I could probably just get a 3 foot long toilet auger to clear this iam sure? The drain is right next to the wall of the house where pipes were replaced, so not that long of distance to span.
