07 Diplomatico no. 4

Won a variety pack at a recent HERF auction and grabbed this to try. *Can't remember that last time I had a Dip 4 so, tonight is a good a night as ever.

The wrapper is a milk chocolate colorado brown with reddish highlights, rustically wrapped about the binder and filler. *The wrapper itself is a little bumpy but no veins to speak of.

Slight box press to this cigar. *Firm from top to bottom. *Triple cap looks good.

The wrapper smells of good old fashioned milk chocolate with a hint of leather. *Cold draw from the foot reveals cedar, pineapple, and a touch of coffee.

The triple cap takes to my punch easily. *Draw is a little loose but not too worried about it. *More cedar, chocolate and hints of spice.

Time to take this to the flame...

Draw is very loose but ok. Prefer a bit more resistance however, I will survive. Hope that this doesn't burn hot at the end. A little surprised about this, seeing that the sqeeze test showed that the cigar was quite firm. Still lots of smoke production. Burn line is AOK.

Hazelnut, earthy notes, sour cherries and leather is the starting lineup of flavours.

The ash is a 'Dirty' greyish white and is holding on nicely through the first third.

Medium in body. Fairly aromatic. The smoke smells like rich chocolate and cedar.

The afterfinish is ok. Not that long. Roasted nuts, earthy characteristics and cedar are the main flavours.

Seems like this cigar is burning fast. Every draw, it looks like it burns more tobacco than I am used to. Maybe it's just me though.

Pretty decent so far. Fairly straight forward.

Not much change so far. I am getting a little burnt chestnut flavour here and there. This cigar is burning at an Olympic pace. LOL

Cedar, coffee, roasted nuts still are at the forefront. Good , consistent flavours. Not overly complex. Just an easy going cigar.

Burn line is getting a little wonky but no need for a touch up and the whole foot of the cigar lights up like the Olympic Torch with every draw.

C'mon complexity. Come out, come out, wherever you are....

Final third:

This thing is burning like crazy!!!! I think I set a new world record for smoking a mareva. LOL

hasn't gotten hot yet, which is good. Well, maybe a little hotter than normal.

Flavours stay consistent. No real change. Pretty straight forward. Not much complexiity to this.

Final Impressions:

This would be a good morning clgar. Mild to medium in strength and consistent flavous thoroughout the cigar.

Thanks for the review! I hate it when cigars burn quickly!
