Looking for info

Hey guys, I bought this box some time ago on an impulse in an antique shop. Ever since I've been trying to find some info about them, IE: what year, where's the leaf grown, etc. with no luck.
If anyone knows anything about these sticks I'd love to hear it. I'm almost certain the sticks inside are garbage and no longer smokable, but they are in my humi now and have been since I bought it(after the initial freezer stay that is).

That's a cool find! I don't know anything about them (except they are probably German and made by Kessing & Theile).

I did a Google search and now know what karlspreis means, but still know nothing about the tobacco or the cigars. Very cool find tho.

I was also only able to find what Karlspreis means and nothing about the cigar. Maybe it was a cigar made for the award ceremony but that is a total guess and there is a 95% chan e I am wrong.

The only other information I can deduce, using the same Google machine as everyone else, is that the prize was first awarded in 1950. So, they are definitely post 1950. I know, I'm brilliant. Right?
Seriously though, great find. I'll be watching this thread hoping somebody has some real information.

After a little more searching, I've come to the assumption(and that's all it is, as I have no proof) that these are post 1955 and pre 1966.
Here's what has lead me to this.
Kessing & Thiele started their Karlspreis line in 55

Then in 66 they got a new trade mark that I've seen on all their packages, but it is not on mine. Therefore that leads me to my pre 66 assumption.
