Hey guys! I'm looking for some some opinions from some of you who have tried the Caldwell Cigars Long Live the King Stick. I can't find any at the local B&M's and was debating on ordering a few. Did you like it? What flavors did you get from it? Is it worth ordering a few? Also, for those who have tried multiple sizes of this stick, what is your preferred vitola? I loved the one I tried, a Lance. Cypress has them.
The lance i tried was too intense for me. I dont usually like cigars that hit you that hard. Tasty though. I was buzzin pretty hard after it and a bit of a stomach ache. But maybe im a light weight
I've had the corona, and it wasn't really for me. The first 10 minutes or so were nice, and it was clearly well made with a great draw and no burn issues, but after that the flavors didn't really do it for me. It reminded me somewhat of the Viajes I've had (I'm not a fan). I always give Viaje big points for originality, but in the end I don't really like the way they taste. This one seemed to have an overly citrus-y, almost astringent flavor with none of the backbone (earth, leather, aged tobacco, etc.) that I like. It seemed almost butter-y at times, which was nice, but I couldn't escape that citric quality. Just my opinion, though, as they're generally highly regarded. I got mine from Small Batch.
